Parents: Would you allow a 14 year old girl and her 17 year old brother, stay home alone for a week?

I am a high school freshman, and he is a senior. We are both responsible, good students. I can cook, clean, and he is big and strong. His best friend's family is within view of our house, and if we needed anything, they could come help. We could both be trusted to complete homework and go to bed at a reasonable hour, as my parents' trip will be during the school year. I think we could be trusted to be a lone for one week. how about you?
